they called us traitors
cause we followed a different star
they called us wasters
with our songs & our guitars
but we were working
on the dreams we kept alive
while theirs died

they tried to tell us
that our dreams were just for kids
they tried to sell us
on their dreams of avarice
but we never had those dreams
we never wanted to rule the world

& if that's what this life is all about
then i guess they're right
we're traitors to the cause

with our tiny tattered banners
we'll resist them when they come
& when they line up hard against us
we'll plant flowers in their guns

when we make our grand escape

as we turn skywards
& let the wind take us away

so come gather all you traitors
